Lightning last hour, around San Pedro
⚡ No lightning within 150 km in the last hour.
Strikes are seen from space by NOAA's GOES-19 Geostationary Lightning Mapper and plotted on the National Meteorological Service's latest 250 km radar picture, so you can see which rain cells are carrying the lightning. Yellow dashed rings are 8, 16 and 40 km from San Pedro; the white rings are the radar's own, centred on the radar near Belize City. Data to 2:41 PM, updated every 10 minutes. The satellite catches most but not every strike, and positions are good to a few kilometres.
How to read it: strikes over the mainland, or moving away, are not a worry. Strikes just offshore with the arrow pointing at the island are. Inside the 8 km ring, get off the water. Not an official warning — follow the National Meteorological Service and NEMO.
